Report suspected illegal mining (galamsey), corruption, environmental violations, or other impropriety in Ghana's gold sector. You may submit your report anonymously. All reports are reviewed by authorised GIGGS enforcement officers and may be referred to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the Minerals Commission, or law enforcement agencies as appropriate.
Under the Whistleblower Act, 2006 (Act 720), you are legally protected from victimisation by your employer, colleagues, or any person as a result of making a disclosure. This includes protection from dismissal, suspension, denial of promotion, transfer against your will, harassment, intimidation, threats, and discrimination. If you experience victimisation, you may report it to CHRAJ, which has the power to order reinstatement, compensation, and other remedies. You are not liable to civil or criminal action unless it is proven that you knowingly disclosed false information with malicious intent. Whistleblowers whose reports lead to an arrest and conviction may receive a reward of up to 10% of recovered funds under the Whistleblower Reward Fund.
